There’s a sign on the ……

This year’s Westside football program plans on developing a new format amongst its players. According to Coach Dubose, (CQ) the head football coach, they want to create a new culture. “The culture we are trying to make is about selflessness, where the kids don’t just think of themselves.”

The new culture will help influence teamwork to make better plays on the field.

“I think it’s a work in progress. It is growing, by having players buy into the process and sometimes removing people from the program,” Dubose said.

Will the new culture be a key to their success ?

Dubose said the team plays a tough schedule early, by design. It’s an opportunity to get better. In order to become a good team you have to play good teams and get a measurement of where you are, Dubose said.

Dubose said Westside is a 5A program and the first contests are against larger schools.

This new culture shows that Dubose wants to help prepare players mentally for big games, players said.

I feel like this culture will definetly be a key component on our football team success this school year. Even if we have the tough teams on the up and coming weeks. I think if we stick to this culture. It will really strengthen our teams teamwork skill and help them play very well on the field and give them a great mentality and mind set about the games they have this year on their football schedule. GO WOLVERINES!!!
