Mr. Thomas leaves an admirable mark here at Westside High as a math teacher who is leaving on Thursday. Being once a freshman here at Westside (WS) impacted the students greatly. Even those students who have already graduated from last year hear his name and smile with joy. Aurora Holmes (CQ) an LSU student smiles reminiscing last year says, “he was the best and sweetest teacher, always staying after school for each student so that they can understand the context and everything.”

After a long processing decision, he decides to accept a job offer, but the hardest part for him was telling his students. He felt the job was a growing opportunity to push him forward.

Love, Compassion, and Flexibility attracted him to teaching. Being the bible class instructor he passes that opportunity to Mrs. Maraghy- the journalism teacher. Bible class being his inspiration to become a teacher in the first place, not only will he miss the interaction with the administration he will continue to be apart of the community by participating in the organizations that are volunteer optional here at WS.
