Hello and welcome to the review on the 2.13.2019 Nintendo Direct. The gaming giant, Nintendo, recently (Heh..Recently..This is soo late) went live with a Nintendo Direct, an exclusive Nintendo news-broadcast directly to the players, and revealed a rapid fire amount of games.

Right off the bat and starting off this Direct, a reveal game play trailer for the new sequel of Super Mario Maker. And it was appropriately named Super Mario Maker 2 (Very clever…). We were not told when the new sequel for the level creator would be available though. After introducing the guide for the exclusive news-broadcast, we went straight into the Nintendo Switch headlines.

Starting the flood of new games (Not exaggerating. There were so many…), As stated in the Direct; for the first time in ten years, there is a new Marvel game on the Switch called Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. This Marvel game has an abundance cast of it’s classic characters; now including the ultimate cosmic protector herself, Captain Marvel. This new game can be played on TV mode, locally on up to four systems, and now online. Features like the new “Heroic Camera” that gives a zoomed in, third-person view to battles are built into the game. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is said to be available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch this Summer of 2019.

The next headline on the Direct is on the geometric puzzle series BOXBOY!, welcoming him back and onto the Switch. With new puzzles and features, a special introduction is done. Introducing the new BOXGIRL! for the new two player mode. After story completion, you have access to a whole seperate adventure with Qudy, the tall one. Said to have 270 stages to beat, which is the highest in the series to date. BOXBOY!+BOXGIRL! will be available April 26th of this year, 2019, on the Switch in the Nintendo eShop.

Headline #3 was on the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spring Update (Another update!). Smash Bros. is now getting into it’s Ver. 3.0 update this Spring. The direct didn’t exactly tell us what would be new but did remind us on our Phantom Thief, Joker from Persona 5, who is apart of the DLC Challenger Pack 1. He’s said to be secretly preparing for his moment to come before the end of April this year. With the sneak peek of how he looks, we must be honest that he is looking cool (Eh?? Get it?? It’s a reference). Along with all that, we were told not to forget about the new Amiibo figures for Super Smash Bros.; which was seen to feature Snake, Simon, Squirtle, Pokemon Trainer and Ivysaur. All this would be available this Spring of 2019.

The fourth headline introduced Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker for the Nintendo Switch with two announcements, the first being a free update where all courses now shall support 2-player co-op and would have been available after the Direct. The second announcement was for paid downloadable content including 18 new challenges that will allow you to travel to 5 new courses and new objectives in existing courses. Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Captain Toad: Special Episode is available for purchase in the Nintendo eShop now; giving early access for one of the courses as well as a digital bundle for players without the game, featuring the entire game and instant access to the new content, but the renainder of content would be available on March 14th, 2019 aka this year.

Now for the fifth headline of the Direct was on a old-school action in an all-new gothic castle, Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night. A new side-scrolling action game has come! In this game, the laws of reality and 2D side-scrollers don’t apply. Throughout the main setting of the game; the main villain’s castle, there’s a wide amount of side quests, deadly tasks, and small touches to flesh out the campagin. Outside of the main story, Miriam’s; the protaganist and playable character, appearance can be changed and customized, sub-quests are available, and most likely more. Bloodstained: Ritual of The Night will be available this Summer 2019.

The sixth and final headline of the first batch was on the sequel of a popular spin-off game (woo) based of a popular turn based fantasy roleplaying game, Dragon Quest Builders 2. Defend your world from monsterous forces and aid villages rebuild in the story mode or unite with other builders to create your own island in multi co-op as well as online. Gathering materials, crafting, and reaching new heights while buildimg any structure you can imagine. You are now able to dash, fly, play in first person, and explore under water in this cute crafting game. The game even features a new retro inspired map. If you own the previous game on the Nintendo Switch system, you can craft you legendary builder’s outfit and the dragon lord’s throne. Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be available July 12th of this year, 2019.

And now for an exclusive new announcement! A new Dragon Quest game has been introduced with a gameplay trailer and exclusive looks at the game. The extravagant  plot (Not really trying to over-hype it. the plot is quite hard to explain here) is explained in the Direct with amazing 3D animation anf graphics for the game that created the genre we know as RPGs. The trailer, as well as the Direct itself, can be found on Nintendo’s youtube channel (Along with many other trailers and informative videos on your favorite Nintendo products). Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition (Now thats a name) shall launch exclusivly on the Nintendo Switch this Fall.

After that announcement, we went back into a new batch of Nintendo Headlines. Those headlines will be discussed on a second part (Since this is sorta getting long). Thanks for reading (And enjoying some snarky comments). Toodles till next time!
