No tea. No shade. No Pink Lemonade. 3

Hey, yall!!!!

So, I know these posts are mad inconsistent, so I’m going to try to post every Friday.

The topic for this week comes from Kamya Rushing. It is about working on yourself and ignoring other’s opinions. This is another thing a lot of us struggle with. We seek approval from everybody in everything that we do. I know a lot of y’all will say “not me, I don’t care about what people think at all” until the hogs come home; but no tea, no shade, no pink lemonade, that is a bald-faced lie that you tell yourself and you’re aware of it but you don’t want others to be aware of it also. I believe that when you say you want to “work on yourself” or “do you” then you must start with your mind. You have to alter the way you think about life (yourself, others, situations, etc.) Then, once you get your mind right, then you can begin to work on your physical appearance and personality if you choose to. People tend to forget that you are supposed to live life for yourself and not for others. If people in your life don’t like the way you move or the way you carry yourself then they can go kick rocks with open-toed shoes on. The term “do you” means to be yourself to the fullest capacity. Once you figure out how to do that then it might make like a little less stressful in some areas. I know you can do it because I believe in you. I hope y’all have a splendid day. See y’all next week, when we will talk about mental health beyond anxiety and depression.

Much love, Laila
