Adaine Regin

No Lights

Pages worn and loved

On the desk of a child

Who will never be able

To hold them again

Gone, that child is

Now sitting at that desk

Slump back, limp

With no light in his eyes

The Funeral

As I lay looking up at the sky

I hear sobs and cries,

Feel tear falling onto my face like rain

As flowers are placed onto my chest

I see the faces of those in which I love

Taking in all there features,

Wishing they weren’t saddened

As this will be all I have to remember them by

The walls of dirt start to grow tall around me

Dirt falling onto my body

Before the door closes and all I see is darkness

All I hear are muffled cries of those who will miss me
