Seniors, most of us know what we want to do when we graduate and some of us don’t but we all know that we want to be successful in life no matter where we go or what we do. People think that a successful person is someone that has a lot of money, knows how to talk people up into getting what they want or need, having a good and/or great education and plenty of other things. Knowing that these things are only a few of the attributions of becoming successful, in actuality becoming successful is mental and not physical. This is my experience throughout high school. I’ve been walked on, used, and forgotten and I don’t regret one moment of it because in those moments I’ve learned a lot. I’ve learned who I can trust and can’t. I’ve learned the meaning of friendship. I’ve learned how to tell when people are lying and when they’re sincere. I’ve learned how to be myself and appreciate the truly great people in my life as they arrive. Now this is how I react to those obstacles.  I might not be someone’s first choice but I am a great choice. I may not be rich but I am valuable. I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not because I am good at being me. I might not be proud of some of the things I’ve done in the past but I am proud of who I am today. I may not be perfect but I don’t need need to be. So, take me as I am or watch me as I walk away. If you think like this and react like this, I know that we will all succeed in a way that some people think is impossible to achieve. Congratulations class of 2016 and let’s be the most successful class that Westside has ever had!!!!!!!
