Quarantine! My COVID Experience
September 6, 2022
Hello, I’m Shamari Williams and just recently I had to quarantine myself because I caught COVID. On August 29th, 2022 I woke up with the feeling of a sore throat approaching but it wasn’t severe so I brushed it off. Later on in the day in the cafeteria my friends and I were singing. We started yelling at one point but that put a strain on my voice. My “sore throat” from that morning got worse so I took some medicine immediately when I got home hoping it helps. It didn’t bother me until the next day where I felt extremely hot and sweaty but the house was really cold. I couldn’t lay in my bed because of how hot I was, so that day and the day after I laid on my floor. My mother set up and appointment at Walgreens on 103rd to take a lab COVID test. (My at home test was positive so we took the lab test to make sure) I was upset when I found out I had COVID but I reminded myself I could stay home. Staying home was EXTREMELY boring. I missed out on a lot of opportunities on things I wanted to participate in this year. Not only did I miss things I missed a lot of my school work too so that is something I must work on this following week and upcoming week. My friends, family, significant other and Teachers missed me being at school. I’m glad to be back! If I could rate my COVID experience I’d give it a 4/10. Simply because it was like the Flu or a common cold and not as bad as people described. (I didn’t obtain all of the symptoms either I even barely coughed) Also because I stayed home with absolutely nobody to talk to until around 4-5pm. (COVID does seem to react differently with vaccinated victims) That was an inside peek into my COVID experience. Thank you. Have a Wonderful Day and stay safe!
