Should She be a Teacher?

Tessa Loveland

At Westside High school, we have four sophomore students in the Early College Program. A requirement for the program is to take ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. Their freshman year (2021-2022) they were told there was not a teacher for this program; during that year they didn’t have an English one or two teacher. As you can imagine they were not able to have the same knowledge as the juniors and seniors in the ENC class(2022-2023). Sadly, the teacher  did not understand my peer’s situation and constantly degrades them as students. This teacher has told my peer “you are writing like a child” disregarding the fact she is (15) while also making side comments in class , that has upset students on multiple occasions. The teacher constantly stresses the students for example, a student emailed the teacher her concerns on the scheduling of the assignments (she is a full high school student with a half-time job because she lives with my grandmother and helps support them) and the teacher told her to get over it. She has constantly does this to me and other students, do you think she should be a teacher?
