Westside Teachers Grading Policy

Miranda Lindsey

If you were to walk around and just listen to others conversations, you would hear them talking about their grades. They are mainly talking about their teacher’s grading policy. Teachers are up and down when it comes to grading and how they grade. There are teachers who will assign 5 assignments and then expect you to have it turned in by the next day and if you don’t they will plug in a 0, without the thought of we have 7 other classes to pertain to.. Even when you try to turn in your work they still won’t grade it until they feel like it. This causes a lot of confliction for students causing them to fall off track and creating an overwhelming feeling. I asked students in school and from other schools how they felt about how teachers grading policy.

De’Ajah from Westside says ” The teachers grading policy is bad in my opinion, I feel like grades are due to fast for the amount of work that we receive.”

Myri from Ed. White states ” I feel like the teachers grading policy could be better, we are set in a pass or fail system.”

Jaiden from Westside also states ” They’re play around with your grades, because when you don’t do the assignment they’re quick to give you a  0 but once you turn it in they take their time to grade your work”
