What age range should people stop trick or treating?

For decades, possibly centuries, there has been the statement of trick or treating not being for teenagers because they are too old. I believe that statement to be wrong. As children, we have 17 years on average before we start making adult decisions. Even then it’s sometimes earlier. All that time passes before our eyes before we even realize it.

“Why should I let my teenager go trick or treating when it’s such a kiddy thing to do?”, Well sure it’s a thing that traditionally younger children do. However, it’s better than all the other things they could be doing on Halloween night. Teens are always peer pressured into growing up and doing adult things.

It’s better to let your teenager do the childish things because not only will it not make them feel insecure about themselves for wanting to do it but you also know you won’t catch them doing dangerous things if you know they are trick or treating.

Let’s be honest, most teenagers are self-critical about themselves when going through puberty. So telling a teenager that what they do or like is wrong and they should grow up, is only going to force them to try to mature faster and change themselves into something they aren’t. So here is something to think about, is a teenager wearing a Halloween costume hurting anyone, or is it benefiting?
