Freedom Writers Diary- Mari Mcgaughey-Willis

A movie review done by yours truly. :)

 What is Freedom Writers Diary?

Is it a book? A movie? No, it’s both. In a world where there is a ton of racism, this could be considered relatable. There are always kids that don’t seem like they have a chance at graduating but the truth is, there is always a chance if you work hard enough. No matter who you are, we all have an opportunity to become something great. It all starts with our education.

Topics of any subject in education can also be enjoyable. In the Freedom Writers, the students enjoyed English not only because of their friendship but because the reading content was relatable. When something relates, it’s easy to comprehend and discuss what we are learning in the classroom.

So, what do I rate this? That’s what this is about isn’t it?

Well, I rate this a 3.5/5 stars. It was a touching story about a teacher who was willing to give her students  a good education, even though it had seemed hopeless to other adults. Kids can grow up with a traumatic background and be something great as an adult. How can they however, when no one thinks the child can? It makes it seem hopeless to try. So I personally think everyone should be given the chance to try. Question is, will you take the chance offered to you?
